Altar Servers
Altar servers assist the priest and deacons during the Mass. Some responsibilities include carrying the cross during the Entrance and Closing Processions, holding the book for the priest during the opening and closing prayers and lighting the candles before Mass. They are in charge of carrying the book to and from the altar and making sure everything is setup properly before and after Mass, including the hosts and wine in the back of the church. They assist the priest when receiving the gifts and pour the water when the priest washes his hands. There are usually 3 servers during each Mass.
How to Participate:
Servers must have received the Sacrament of Reconciliation, made their First Communion and be in the 4th grade or above. Training is provided as needed. For scheduling, please contact Linda Dillon at 472-6669.
